Composition: Specific properties of the principal components:
Hydroglycolic extract of Sage
(Salvia Officinalis):
The essential oil comprises salviol,
responsible for the action on arteriolar and capillary vessel
tone and pricosalvina, a bacteriostatic
and bactericide.
a-ketoglutaric acid (2-Oxoglutaric
Acid):
This acts by blocking the amine radicals
(ammonia and urea), thus acting as a deodorant and antioxidant.
Deproteinised milk serum (Lac):
Obtained by nebulisation of deproteinised,
pasteurised milk serum. It acts as a buffer, providing prolonged
acidity.
Reproduces a very
fine, emollient lipid coating on the skin or mucous membranes;
it neutralizes
the drying action of the anionic cleansing wash and of the
product’s
acidity.
Activity:
SAUGELLA restores the physiological acidity of the surface of the skin and mucous
membranes of the female genitalia.
Uses:
Routine gynaecological hygiene, vulval itching,
washing after childbirth and surgery.
Daily toilet of newborn babies, to counteract
the effects of hard water.
For cleaning the scalp, local cleansing in eczema,
contact eczema, mycotic infection.
Method of use:
For intimate hygiene: dilute 2-4 spoonfuls of SAUGELLA per liter
of water.
For bathing: dilute 4-5 spoonfuls of SAUGELLA in
the water.
In the shower: use as liquid soap.
For local cleansing: cleanse the affected skin twice a day using
a wad of cotton or gauze and dilute one part of the product
in three parts water.
For the scalp: use as a normal shampoo.
Method of storage: Store at ambient temperature, away from heat sources.

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS USE: cleanser for the genital skin and mucosa. Diluted
in water at the normal concentration for liquid cleansers. Temporary contact,
because rinsed off.
EVALUATION OF RAW MATERIALS:
Toxicological evaluation of the raw materials is that they are absolutely
safe, because undesirable reactions are usually absent, or only slightly
significant under experimental conditions which are entirely different from
those of everyday use.
Sensitising capacity is nil for practically all of the raw materials; in
addition, the finished product has been monitored with regard to irritation
and sensitisation in humans using the patch test. There has been long experience
of the product, both in terms of the period of time during which it has been
used and the quantity marketed, and no undesirable reactions have ever been
reported.
Clinical trials have been conducted on the product in a large number of surveys,
with regard to conformity with the stated effects and with tolerability.
GENERAL OPINION ON TOXICITY: NON-TOXIC NON-IRRITANT NON-SENSITISING
